Michelle Smith D.V.M

The Oklahoma native joined the Shot Spot team of veterinarians after moving to McKinney in July. Dr. Smith graduated from Oklahoma State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine in 2009. She holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Biology from Oklahoma State University.

Dr. Smith showed interest in animals very early. At 8, she proclaimed she would one day make her mark on the world of veterinarians. Throughout college, she worked in vet clinics and volunteered at both the Tulsa and Oklahoma City zoos. Dr. Smith also boasts experience in the worlds of corporate and private medicine. Although a self-professed dog lover, she has 2 cats of her own: a Bengal and a rescued tabby. Her true interest lies in exotic and wildlife medicine. She has worked with a variety of animals ranging from rhinos, lions and elephants to raptors, reptiles, tortoises and pocket pets. She spent 6 years doing wildlife rehab with WINGIT where she cared for native squirrels, opossums and turtles.

We’re excited to have Dr. Smith as part of our Shot Spot family and are confident her extensive skill set will benefit the Shot Spot and its clients for a long time.
