Dr. Katherine Goleniak is a native of Brighton, Michigan, a small town in the metro-Detroit area, Dr. Goleniak’s path to veterinary medicine was inspired by her parents, both veterinarians, who fostered her love for animals from a young age. This early exposure, combined with their mentorship, guided her to pursue her dream of becoming a veterinarian. She earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Midwestern University College of Veterinary Medicine in Glendale, AZ, graduating in 2019. She joined The Shot Spot Team in June 2024.

For Dr. Goleniak, the most rewarding aspect of her career is the ability to address a diverse array of medical challenges and witness the profound bond between humans and their animal companions. Her dedication to her patients is evident in her thorough approach and her compassionate care. She brings with her a passion for internal medicine, particularly in managing urinary issues and liver disease, as well as a deep interest in pathology.

Dr. Goleniak is married to her husband, Kirk, and they are proud parents of two daughters, Kira, who is three years old, and Katarina, who is six months old. Their family also includes four beloved pets: Nutmeg, a mini dachshund; Erin, a black cat; Luke, a Greek tortoise; and Merlin, a blue tongue skink. In her free time, she loves to read and enjoys exploring new local restaurants and coffee shops. Her favorite sport is Hockey, and she is a loyal fan of the Detroit Red Wings.

She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), committed to advancing veterinary care and ensuring the well-being of her patients.
